BIG MOM AND KAIDO'S FORMER CREW.

Updated: Jan 8, 2019

WHO OR WHAT IS "ROCKS(ENG)/LOCKS(JAP)".

In One Piece chapter 907 Garp stated about him gaining his title "Hero of Marines" is not entirely for fighting Roger but before that Garp had defeat legendary pirates from the "Rock/Lock" Era. One of the pirate of the Lock Era being the formal captain of both Big Mom and Kaido.

I have seen some comments on One Piece YouTubers' comment section saying the each letters in Rocks/Locks stands for the name of these pirates that are associated with that Era before Golden Era by Gol D. Roger.

The above panel Garp and Hina are talking about how Garp received his title and about Big Mom and Kaido lose their captain 40 years ago and their era was theirs. One Piece is inspired by Pirates of the Caribbean. [Look up Roger, Edward, Blackbeard, Bonney, Kid, Drake, Hawkins, etc and their real pirate/privateer].

Here is what ROCKS members/The ROCKS Pirates are:

R=??? (Probably the captain).

O=??? (Probably a Shogun, that's why Kaido had ties with Wano).

C=Charlotte Linlin.

K=Kaido the beast.

S=Shakky (A formal pirate, once chased by Monkey D. Garp over 42 years ago).

The R and the O are vice versa if they are reveal in the future.

In Japan surname comes first:

L=??? (Probably the captain).

O=??? (Probably a Shogun, that's why Kaido had ties with Wano).

C=Charlotte Linlin.

K=Kaido the beast.

S=Shakky (A formal pirate, once chased by Monkey D. Garp over 42 years ago).

The L and the O are vice versa if they are reveal in the future.

I couldn't find any famous pirate/privateer starting with a letter L or O in the name except Olivier Levasseur (Gol D. Roger) but I do not think Roger is a crewmate of BM and Kaido nor is he under a previous captain. I would say C stands for Calico Jack if Linlin Charlotte is L. I don't know if Calico Jack is already shown/mention in One Piece but please correct me if I'm wrong. We see two legends in Thriller Bark; Ryuma and captain John.

Calico Jack on the left and Captain John on the right

Search Calico Jack in google wiki for info about him. Calico Jack's nickname is John. There are two known John; John giant and Captain John. The John treasure that Buggy sought to get. Captain John is long dead and is a skeleton in Thriller Bark. Calico Jack have a wife named Anne Bonny (Jewellery Bonney).

We know that Bonney had a age-age devil fruit. Not much is known about her past and she is very important to the World Government itself (The speech made by Akainu when retrieving Bonney from Blackbeard). Her current age is 24 post-timeskip. She could have gotta her devil fruit at a young age. Since she can manipulate her age she gain eternal youth so she might be relate to Captain John or part of the Rocks Era. I believed devil fruits are long there since Mother Caramel or as long as Ancient/Great Kingdom.

Gekko Moriah had two legendary zombies in Thriller Bark; Zombie Captain John and Zombie Samurai Ryuma. Moriah lose his crew to Kaido in the past. Ryuma was related to Wano and John was part of the Locks Era. It make sense for Moriah to show up in Wano since Kaido and Big Mom are going to Wano. Gol D. Roger replaced the Lock Era with his Golden Era (Golden Age of Piracy) and now Luffy will establish the New Era (New beginning) once the World Government have collapse.

Interesting comparison of Calico Jack and Shanks flag hmmm...
